It is
emphasized that pre-registration for phase-in
substances (comprising over 100,000 substances
placed on the EU market) will begin on 1 June
2008, and remain possible in almost all cases
only until 1 December 2008. If Hong Kong's
traders of such substances fail to pre-register,
they will not be able to benefit from the
extended transition periods for full-blown
registration, permitted under REACH. Although
the ECHA guidance on pre-registration is yet to
be published, the guidance on data sharing
contains helpful information on how best to meet
the pre-registration
requirement. |
